I find the thing that is missing in most relationships is open communication. Many things are very important that needs to be talked about and discussed in a relationship. Either one or both stop talking or never do start. If you don’t communicate, then eventually it builds up and you have a blow up. But if you take the time to care... and want to communicate.... you can take your relationship to a whole new level. To be able to open up and tell your partner ANYTHING is a beautiful place to be in a relationship. Being able to tell your partner your desires...... being able to tell your partner what turns you on when making love... and what doesn’t. Letting your partner know more about how to go to a more deeper heart connection together. Also it is not good to let the sun go down with anger in your heart ... or if something was said or done to hurt you by your partner and you have not expressed it..... if not talked about and shoved away.... will build up and cause a much larger problem. Plus the way you communicate is very important. Remember screaming at your partner.... is not effective communication. I know for myself.... if someone is screaming at me, I don’t receive anything that is said to me. I feel you can discuss things you disagree about without screaming. Anger can consume you and cause you to say things and do things that you shouldn’t say or mean to say. Another reason to communicate earlier when problems come up rather than to let them build up and explode. I suggest that you check in with your partner if you sense they are upset or hurt. Ask them if everything is ok. And maybe they are just having a bad day. But the fact that you cared to ask if they are ok and communicate, will show that you care about them and their feelings. Sit down with your partner.... and if you are not communicating, no better time to start than the present. And yes you might find it hard at first.... but very rewarding in the end. Many people tell me.......... ”Oh my partner would never be willing to communicate about that...” Sometimes you might be surprised..... maybe they think you don’t want to communicate.... and have held back. It takes one person starting.... and if the first time you don’t succeed.... keep trying. Some have not opened up for a long time or maybe never.... but once they do and see the beauty of being able to express their desires... needs.... hurts ..... and pains.... they start opening up more and more as time goes on.
